Way Foster Family Agency

Licensed
in 1996, Children's Way was developed to provide a nurturing and safe
home for children who have been abused, neglected, or have no caregiver,
and is designed to meet the individual needs of children, youth, and
their families. Certified Foster Parents are recruited, trained, monitored,
and supported in providing nurturing home environments to children
in need of our services, and who are unable to live with their natural
parents. Services are provided to communities of and surrounding Los
Angeles, Lancaster, and San Bernardino. |
| Family
Way Adult Family Home Agency Services |
| Help the adult client with developmental
disabilities ages between 18 thru 62 years. Adults, interested in providing
care and receiving clients into their homes as part of the family unit. Family
Way recruits and trains family members on how to become home providers. Once
a family is trained by Family Way, they become Certified Adult Home Providers.
family Way then engages a mutual selection process to best match the client
with the family. Onging support is given to the family by professional staff
of Family Way Home Serivces division of California Institute of Health and
Social Services, Inc.

| Enlightenment
Chemical Dependency Program |
| Designed to provide services to
adult individuals with developmental disabilities who are substance abusers, to
reduce problems in the area of criminal behavior and to prepare the client
to lead a more meaningful, independent, sober lifestyle. Enlightenment uses
treatment strategies to motivate clients to stop using drugs and alcohol and to
understand the negative impact of using drugs and the positive results from a sober life.

Support DD Program |
This is CIHSS 's developmental disabilites
program that was developed to provide love, and nuturing homes and services
to foster children with developmental disabilities that our Regional Center eligible
to receive in-home therapeutic services from our agency support personnel with the
goal of assisting special needs children with support. Agency Social Workers
monitor the homes and provide case management services. Certified (Foster)
Parents work cooperatively with Children's Support and Children's Way professional
staff, and the Regional Center in meeting identified needs and interest of each
child while stimulating growth potential.

Mental Health Institute |
| Designed
to provide access to mental health services to children who have been
identified as having mental issues to decrease placement disruptions,
and increase stability and functioning of children. Components include:
Mental Health Assessment; Individual, family and group therapy services;
case management; crisis intervention; medication assessment, management
and support, and; 24 hour crisis intervention. |
| Children's
Way Adoption Services |
|
CIHSS is a licensed full-services adoption services to children in
out-of-
home care, with resources to certified foster families and biological
parents. All prospective adoptive families is provided a comprehensive
training
series. This training will offer a better understanding of the
types of children that are available for adoption as well as some of the
issues faced
by the family. CIHSS prepares the family with supportive services,
pre-finalization, crisis intervention and individualized
attention. CIHSS
offers ideas on the best ways to handle issues that may arise along the
way. CHISS conducts home studies for foster to adopt parents as well
as,
pertinent information and support to the biological parent.

| Enlightenment Out-patient Substance Abuse
|
| As
a spin-off from the CIHSS Chemical Dependency program stated in 2002
and
enhanced in 2005, the Enlightenment Out-patient program was developed
due to the overwhelming demand to need the needs of individuals in the
community
who have substance abuse problems. The program offers outpatient
treatment for individuals experience difficulty with alcohol and drugs,
Services
include, 12 Step Support meetings, Relapse Prevention, Life skills, Drug
Education.
