WHAT IS A FAMILY HOME PROVIDER?

A home provider is a person who opens their home to an individual with a development disability, as part of their extended family. 

 

As a home provider you provider you would provide:

  • Assistance and guidance to the individual in your home to become more independent and reach their optimal level of functioning.

  • Help them in accessing the community

  • Assist with transportation to medical appointments.

  • Assist with activities of daily living

 

Most importantly the Family Home Provider embraces the person who they have invited into their home as one of their extended family members.
